Patricia Teheran was a prominent Colombian singer, known for her love of vallenato music, especially the music of Rafael Escalona. She was born in Cartagena in 1969 and began her career in the late 1980s. Teheran's first album, "Recordando a mi progenitor," was released in 1987 and included covers of songs by her musical hero Rafael Escalona.
On January 19, 1995, Teheran was tragically killed in a car accident while returning from a performance in Barranquilla. She was only 25 years old at the time of her death. Her passing was a great loss to the world of vallenato music, and she is still remembered today as one of the most talented female vallenato singers of all time.
